Sally Mann

One of the photographers that influenced me the most was Sally Mann. Especially with her film photography a lot of her images look natural and not staged, but in reality she spent a lot of time and put in a lot of thought about how she wanted a certain photo to look. She influenced me in my film photography because even though she did more portraits, I found myself manipulating my environment in order to create something that made sense compositionally. Sally Mann makes her photos look effortless and creates an atmosphere for her subject so that they stand out and look like they are meant to fill up the frame.
